[NEDERLANDS] De gemiddelde Nederlander koopt zo'n 46 nieuwe kledingstukken per jaar. [ENGLISH] The average Dutch person purchases 46 pieces of clothing per year. That requires a great amount of raw materials, and causes a lot of textile waste on the other end of the process. In order to deal with our clothing more consciously and sustainably, we need two kinds of knowledge. On the one hand, we need theoretical knowledge about how textiles are made, and on the other hand we need to know in practice how to take care of the things we own, so they can be repaired and upcycled, instead of thrown away in favor of something new. This workshop will deal with both these aspects: while we repair rips and sew loose buttons back on, we'll discuss the climate effect of textiles. Sign up via email (angel.perazzetta@gmail.com), or send a message to +31 6 16 276 442 Important: bring your broken/boring pieces of clothing to practice on! N.B.: this activity is also intended to be a chance to socialize and get to know new people. We're going for a relaxed, chatty, informal vibe. If you want a professional course on how to expertly repair clothes, you might want to go elsewhere... but come here too, because it might be fun!
